Duties will include:

  • Reflect the professional image of the society by following the policies and procedures as set out in the society hand book and funeral department work book
  • Follow client, company and current GDPR policies as set out in the TCFS training book
  • Hold a detailed understanding of the bereavement registration process.
  • Have a confident knowledge of products and services the funeral department can provide
  • Be capable of using the funeral management system including, data input, posting payments, raising invoices, and data search
  • Excellent call handling capabilities
  • Ensuring a professional and efficient manner dealing with enquiries
  • Professionally liaise with 3rd party agencies taking and delivering accurate information
  • Be responsible for payments made by clients. This includes cash, Cheque and card payments
  • Community support and promotion
  • Support visitors with practical and emotional support during branch visits
  • Be responsible for financial tasks such as petty cash, GRNI, and Weekly banking.
  • Receptionist duties when required
  • Follow all training and Health and Safety instructions accurately

Reception / Administrator additional duties:

Some colleagues may be responsible for satellite funeral homes. This will involve either lone working or as part of a small team. In these situations, colleagues would also be expected to maintain a clean and tidy branch as well as the following.

  • Branch housekeeping
  • Petty cash
  • Community support and promotion
  • Support visitors with practical and emotional support during branch chapel visits
  • Any other duties to support the continuity of the funeral office

  • On completion of the apprenticeship the opportunity to develop into funeral arranger , Funeral operative or funeral director would be highly likely

  • Due to the nature of the profession, you would need to be comfortable with exposure to deceased
  • Confidentiality is a paramount
  • The funeral business is often time critical and often encounter very busy periods
  • From time to time the needs of the business may require you to work in other locations of the funeral department or perform other duties. We may also need to you to adjust your work pattern. There is an expectation of cooperation in these situations but we will work with you to minimise disruption to your normal contracted location and work pattern
