Introduction
Welcome to Juniper Training Walsall. We want to share with you an overview of our current porgrammes.
Until further notice the centre is still open for our vulnerable students and students of keyworkers. All other students remain on programme and will continue to access their provision pathway remotely for the foreseeable future.
We wanted to also confirm that we are still recruiting for our February 22nd start date. The first four weeks of the induction is provided virtually using Microsoft Teams so students will not be affected by the current lockdown rules. All of the Juniper courses focus on supporting students to achieve the skills, qualifications, knowledge and experience they need to progress in their chosen career. The aim is for all students to develop the required skillset, achieve relevant qualifications (including English and maths GCSE re-sits where necessary) and importantly the experience employers are looking for in their workforce. Our pathways support students to progress onto an apprenticeship, into employment or further education. Juniper offer a 100% progression promise to all students.

| 16-18 Mint Study Programme | Start Dates | |||||

Mint is a free course for young people aged 16-18 (19 if they were 18 on the 31st August 2020 or 16-24 with an EHCP) who may be unsure of the next steps in their career and would benefit from having access to a variety of opportunities in different occupational areas of interest in order to make an informed choice about their future.

| Adult Traineeships 19-24 | Start Dates | |||||

Adult traineeships are an ideal stepping stone onto an apprenticeship – ideally suited if the person would benefit from accessing high quality, real life experience in their chosen area of work, to secure sustainable employment, an apprenticeship or a course of further learning. Traineeships are designed to benefit students that are within six months of being able to progress, last for up to 6 months (depending on age and Maths and English support) and reflect the needs of the student

For any young people aged 16 to 18 who may not be ready for our full time course through Black Country IMPACT funding we do offer a four week pre-course to assess suitability and to build on the students skills and develop confidence.
A brand new Maths and English course is starting soon for 16-24 year olds again funded though Black Country IMPACT. More information will be available soon. | Apprenticeship Success | ||||||

This month sees National Apprenticeship week which takes part from 8th to 14th February.
We wanted to highlight one of our apprentices Dylan Jones. Dylan completed a Study Programme course with us. Once finished Kerry Kilgallon (from our Apprenticeship Team) started Dylan on a Business Administration apprenticeship, sadly due to the first lockdown, this ended. However Dylan has now moved into a new Customer Service apprenticeship, going from strength to strength. Well done Dylan – The path to success is not always a straight line and you have shown how committed you are! Do you know anyone who wants an apprenticeship but are maybe not quite ready yet?
